Examinations in 2026/27

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR Y11 AND Y13 STUDENTS, PARENTS/CARERS

A level and GCSE exam contingency session is WEDNESDAY 23rd JUNE 2027.

This date has been set by JCQ as a contingency date, should sustained national or local disruption arise during the Summer 2026 examination series. If disruption occurs, the GCSE and/or A level exams (or equivalent) would be taken either for the first time or again on any date up to and including the contingency date.

Students taking public examinations should not plan to go on holiday before the 24th June regardless of when their last exam takes place.

This is a JCQ decision and applies to all students taking GCSE and or A levels (or equivalent) in Summer 2027 in all schools and colleges.

Year 7

Assessments will be conducted throughout the year as determined by each department.

Year 8

Assessments will be conducted throughout the year as determined by each department.

Year 9

Assessments will be conducted throughout the year as determined by each department.

Year 10

Mock written paper exams will take place from 21st June - 2nd July 2027.

Art and photography exams will take place 8th - 11th June 2027.

Year 11

Mock written paper exams will take place from 9th - 20th November 2026. 

Food and Nutrition practical exam TBC

Y11 Additional Core Subject Mocks will take place 22nd February - 5th March 2027

Art and Photography Exams take place 20th - 23rd April 2027

PE GCSE practical assessments TBC

MFL speaking exams take place 26th - 30th April 2027

External summer exams (GCSE and equivalents) will take place 4th May- 18th June 2027

Year 12

Criminology assessment 8th - 9th March 2027

Mock written paper exams will take place from 19th - 30th April 2027

MFL speaking exams take place 10th - 14th May 2027

Fine Art  and Art Photography exams take place 20th & 21st May 2027

Year 13

Mock written paper exams will take place 11th - 22nd January 2027

Criminology controlled 4th - 5th February 2027

MFL speaking exams take place 4th - 6th May 2027

Fine Art and Art Photography exams take place 4th - 6th May 2027

External summer exams (A level and equivalents) will take place 4th May -18th June 2027
